Collection: Bassinets & Cribs

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends babies room-share with their parents for the first 3 months, preferably longer, to reduce the risk of SIDS. Parents typically rent their bassinet for room-sharing during the first 3-4 months before baby begins rolling over and/or sitting up. At this milestone, they are ready to transition out of the bassinet and into their crib.

Many parents don’t even use their crib for the first few months as their newborns room-share in their bassinet at night and often nap wherever their caregivers are during the day. Renting a Pack n' Play during these months can be handy for napping in different rooms, but they aren't essential.

Around 4 months old, babies typically transition to sleeping in their crib overnight and for daytime naps. Many use their crib until they are 1.5 to 3 years old, before moving to a toddler bed. Many cribs are even convertible into toddler beds. Given this longevity, we believe it makes sense to invest in buying your crib.
Between 6-18 months, babies typically sleep in their crib, often in their own room. If you haven’t already, you’ll likely want to buy a crib at this stage as babies often sleep in their crib until they are 1.5 to 3 years old, before moving to a toddler bed. Many cribs are convertible into toddler beds, offering a cost-effective, long-term solution.

When selecting a crib for your baby, ensure it has a lower mattress setting to prevent falls as your child becomes more mobile. Look for a crib with a design that can easily convert into a toddler bed, providing a seamless, cost-effective transition as your child grows. Additionally, consider a crib with ample space and a sturdy build to withstand the increased activity and weight of a toddler.

At this stage, renting Pack n' Plays and Slumberpods for travel can be handy for creating a comfortable and familiar sleeping environment while away from home.
At the toddler stage, your little one may still be in their crib or a toddler bed. Given how long they’ll use these items, we think buying these items is a good investment.
